Tomáš Večerka Takes 2nd Place at ECCE HOMO ŠTERNBERK 2025 Racing for Kotouč Gearboxes

The 120th ECCE HOMO ŠTERNBERK hill climb took place in 2025 with a record number of racers competing. One of the standout drivers was Tomáš Večerka, representing the Kotouc Gearboxes team behind the wheel of a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9.

ECCE HOMO ŠTERNBERK is a well-known and respected event in Czech motorsport, attracting top drivers and passionate fans every year. This year's race saw fierce competition across all categories, making Tomáš's performance even more impressive. 

Tomáš put in a strong and steady run, finishing in 2nd place with a time of 3:36.563. His Mitsubishi, fitted with a Kotouc Gearboxes transmission, showed great reliability and performance throughout the race.

This result reflects not only Tomáš's driving skills but also the quality and durability of the gearbox. The 2025 race was another memorable chapter in the long history of ECCE HOMO ŠTERNBERK, which has been a highlight of motorsport for over a century.

For those unfamiliar with ECCE HOMO, this historic hill climb has been a staple of European motorsport for over 120 years. The course stretches 7.8 kilometers with a vertical rise of 307 meters, making it one of the fastest and most demanding hill climbs in the region. Drivers must maintain intense concentration and bravery from start to finish to master this challenging track.

During the season, the car underwent several important updates and repairs to ensure optimal performance. After the first race, we had to repair the clutch, specifically replacing the clutch disc. Before ECCE HOMO, we faced some electronic issues as well as problems with the brakes that required attention. Additionally, this season we made engine modifications to address previous technical faults and installed a new seat that complies with current homologation standards. These updates helped improve both reliability and safety for the demanding hill climb competition.
